This itinerary perfectly suits not just for whitewater rafting fans but also for trekking fans. Trekking goes through the Katun range, the main and the highest massif of the Altai mountains. The Itinerary shows you picturesque localities of Belukha mountain – the highest mountain of the Altai and Siberia. Lake Kucherlinskoye is full of iced very beautiful blue-green color water. The peaks of the main range rise above water surface of the lake.
Nicholas Roerich loved this place and devoted many pictures to the Altai. But you will learn more about it in Nicholas Roerich Museum in the village Verh-Uimon. Some people think that mysterious Shambala is hidden somewhere in these places.
The Katun is equal in its beauty and power to other floating rivers of Russia. Whatever reach of the river you choose you will be captivated by power and beauty of these places. You will overcome III-IV class rapids Akkemsky proryv, Ilgumen, Shabash, Kadrinskaya truba and others. Several horses accompany the group to carry heavy load (tents, products etc). Itinerary doesn’t require special training but you should be ready for some work loads, you go with camera and small backpack.

| The 2nd day | The Auto tour continues. The road goes along the river Cox with crystal water, and overcomes the Gromotuha pass. Visiting Nicholas Roerich Museum. Lunch. Arrival in the Tungur village. Camping on the Katun banks, base Uch-Sumer. Accommodation in little houses is available. |
| The 3d day | Start of the active part of the tour. Transportation by car (UAZ) to Elan. Here the road ends and hiking path starts. Loading of horses. The path goes through the Kucherela river. Overnight at the specially equipped stop on the bank of the river. |
| The 4th day | Trekking to lake Kucherlinskoye. From moraine one can admire glorious view of lake Kucherlinskoye which is surrounded by mountains with sharply white snowy peaks and dense softwood forests. Overnight on the picturesque bank of the river. |

| The 7th day | On the bank of the river the group prepares for the rafting, listens safety instruction, learns how to use equipment. Guides fully prepare all the equipment. There are no serious obstacles during first 10 km so that enables tourists to learn how to control the raft. Overnight at the mouth of the Akkem river. |
| The 8th day | Team overcomes one of the most difficult rapids of the Katun – Akkemskiy proryv. Reconnaissance and obligatory insurance are provided. Stop at the mouth of the Argut where one can visit the Museum of water tourism in the open air. |
| The 9th day | The day of calm rafting on the M. Yaloman river. Beautiful views of the mountains, joining the Chuya river. |
| The 10th day | Big day, just in an hour there is the Ilgumensky rapid (IV class.), it is 500 meters long and its water-wave is up to 3 meters high. Then the extended rapid Kadrinskaya truba follows (IV class) rafting distance is 23 km. |
| The 11th day | There is a serious obstacle – Shabash rapid. You have an option to go round the rapid down the river bank. This adventure will make team’s blood boil! Several powerful riffles go further. Rafting distance is 20 km. Overnight is near crystal river. Visiting the rock engravings. |
| The 12th day | This day rafting will take 4 hours. Passing the Ajulinsky rapid III class. Itinerary ends not far from Kujus village. Transportation to Barnaul. |

Personal equipment
Each participant should have sports bag, shoes and wetsuit for the rafting, windproof suit, jogging suit, raincoat, a couple of T-shirts, thermal underwear, sweater, jogging shoes, three - four pairs of socks, caps, sunglasses, swimsuit, shorts or tights, personal hygiene items, cameras, torch, specific medications, etc.

- Professional Cooking is provided. Only fresh vegetables are used.
- Raft, equipment, camping (fire pits, tents, tables) are provided by guides.
- Reconnaissance of rapids, providing of insurance and safety, rescue operation are performed by guides
- One can lease necessary additional equipment – wetsuit, shoes for rafting.
